원룸바벨은 LIDAR 스캐너를 이용하여 가져온, 20-30대 청년들의 원룸 공간 데이터를 모아 만든 탑의 이름이자 인터랙티브 VR 프로젝트의 이름이다. 유저는 VR을 통해 산호초로 만들어진 원룸바벨의 내부를 돌아다니면서 공간에 놓인 텍스트를 발견한다.
서울문화재단의 '2022 언폴드엑스 융합예술 창제작 지원사업'에 선정되어 제작된 작품이다.
2022년 11월 S-Factory에서 개최된 제 1회 서울융합예술페스티벌 <Shaping the Future>에서 첫 공개되었다.
"Oneroom-Babel" is a single-play Interactive VR project. The title refers to the eponymous building in the project which is composed of residential space data, captured by a LIDAR scanner and gathered from youth in South Korea in their 20s-30s. The player walks around the interior of Oneroom-Babel made of coral reefs and finds text in the space through VR.
This work was selected as the "2022 Unfold X Open Call" support project by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture and produced with the support fund received. It was exhibited first at <Shaping the Future>, 11.2022, Seoul.
